Swimming Lessons Everyone Health & Fitness offers a wide range of aquatic lessons based on the nationally recognised Royal Life Saving Society Our Learn to Swim program caters for all age groups and abilities, from infants through to adults.
Through play related activities, the aim of these classes is to assist children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years, to develop confidence and familiarity with the water. Participants in the Yabbie classes will develop skills in balance, submersion and coordination through aquatic based games, songs and activities. Yabbie classes are designed to encourage a maximum level of interaction between the toddler, their parent, and the instructor.
The objective of the Seahorse levels is to develop a child’s confidence in the water without parents. Children are encouraged to start propelling themselves through the water, with and without assistance. The Seahorse levels introduce children to ‘Safe Behaviour’ in the aquatic environment and aim to develop a healthy respect for the water – without fear.
In Levels 1 and 2, children learn freestyle & backstroke technique, and develop deep-water survival skills such as treading water and survival sculling. Levels 3 & 4 introduce children to Survival Backstroke, Breaststroke & Butterfly. The focus is on further development of technique while increasing stamina and endurance.
It’s never to late to learn to swim. Adult classes cater for a range of requirements, from those who have never set foot in the water to those seeking stroke proficiency. The only prerequisite is a sense of humor, - And no, you don’t have to put your face in the water at the first lesson!
