Strength For Health (SFH)

What is ‘Strength For Health’?

‘Strength For Health’ classes along with other programs you may have heard of, ‘Living longer, living stronger’, ‘Active living’ & ‘Strong & Healthy’, which can be found running in any community.

Originally these programs were designed for people young & old who have a chronic illness, by the ‘Arthritis foundation of Australia, to help encourage people to manage their disease/disabilities so they can function as normal as possible within their home environment and the community. 
In resent studies it has shown the advantages of these classes not only for the chronically ill but it has been proven to have great benefits to anyone. So if your 40 or even say 85 years young, these classes are for you.

What are the benefits of participating in a ‘Strength For Health’ class?

  • Increase peak bone mass
  • Reduces bone loss that occurs after menopause
  • Maintain muscle strength, balance and co-ordination.
  • Decreasing the risk of falls
  • Lowing of blood pressure
  • Helps to maintain blood glucose levels
  • Helps people who suffer with depression, feel better about them selves.
  • Promotes greater mobility of joints
  • Improve and maintain your ability to perform every day tasks.

‘Strength For Health’ Classes

All our classes at Everyone Health & Fitness are fully supervised by trained leaders, who either have certificate 3 in fitness or certificate 4 in personal training. Each leader has completed a ‘Strength Training for chronic illnesses’ development course run by ‘The arthritis foundation of Australia’ to qualify to lead these classes and enable them to assess and refer participants onto professionals within the health industry such as physiotherapists if needed.

Our classes

We have classes every day of the week varying in intensity/level of exercise that is required by every individual that wants to work out with us.
We tailor the exercise to suit you, we are able to modify the program regarding on injuries/capabilities that you may have.

Classes descriptions

Strength for health Core (SFH) – Lets get started            
Monday & Wednesday  @ 8:00 am
For those who are just getting started, back on their feet.
A group class using light free weights, low impact exercises.
Improve your balance & co-ordination.

Strength for health Aqua (SFH)
Monday (slightly active) & Thursday (very gentle) @ 1:30 pm
A class designed for new participants and those looking for a light work out and those returning to exercise after injury or a long break,
 Using the water as a supportive and resistive medium.
Strengthen your core, improve your balance & co-Ordination.
(No swimming skills required).

Strength for health - Reaching Higher (SFH)
Tuesday & Thursday @ 8:30 am
Ok, now we climb to the top! Lift your balance and co-ordination to a higher level.
To further enhance functional movement, Active movement, balance and
Co-ordination.

Strength for health – gym (SFH)
Tuesday & Thursday @ 2:30 pm

Feel comfortable in a supervised group environment, as you work out at your own pace with your personalized gym program.

Strength for health – Core/Cardio (SFH)
Friday @ 8:00am

A great class for anyone wanting to do basic weights using SFH exercises with the added bonus of a cardio work out.

 

You’ve read about it, you’ve heard about it, you have seen what we have to offer you! Now all you need to do is come into Everyone Health and Fitness and speak with our friendly staff, which will be able to organize for you to speak with one of the class leaders. 

This will be your first step into a new life style that will have you feeling fantastic and fully capable of dealing with life’s small challenges.
